our services

Our therapy is driven by evidenced based methodologies and the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis. We provide center-based therapy, as well as home and community-based therapy to all children and adolescents. We focus on informing, collaborating, and supporting our families as we move through the treatment process. Each of our treatment models focus on creating an individualized treatment plan that meets each child’s unique needs.

Our Focused and Comprehensive ABA treatment models use an intensive behavioral intervention approach while providing 1:1 therapy. These models include direct supervision hours by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst weekly. Once the client meets mastery criteria, more naturalistic approaches are used to promote generalization.

Our treatment models address multiple areas including, but not limited to, behaviors that may be harmful to themselves or others (i.e., aggression, self-injury, etc.); behaviors that may impede or limit one’s ability to access their environment/community(functional communication, motor skills, etc.). In addition to these behaviors, we also strive to encourage and develop age-appropriate adaptive skills (i.e., conceptual, social, and practical skills) as well as age-appropriate social and functional skills (i.e., toileting, dressing, feeding) that are essential for increasing one’s independence. We also work on improving executive functioning skills such as planning, self-control, working memory, time management and organizational skills and more. We also provide consistent parent training in order to empower the parents to support their child throughout their life span in all areas of development.

We offer Social Skills groups that will give your child the opportunities and experience

to:

  • Actively engage in direct hands-on experiences with peers using sensory materials

  • Work as a team, learn how to take turns and share with others (i.e., greet one another, make eye contact, joint attention, waiting, back and forth conversation)

  • Use functional communication skills and use active listening skills

  • Learn self-regulating techniques and be given opportunities to cultivate empathy

  • Model, teach, practice, repeat these skills

Every Step Counts will offer consultation to collaborate with your child’s school to
provide support and help families review or modify their child’s current IEP. We will look
over their current accommodations, goals, objectives, and progress to work
collaboratively with the school. Our goal is to ensure that your child is receiving services
in the least restrictive environment while focusing on social, emotional, independent,
and cognitive growth.

At Every Step Counts Behavioral Therapy we have created a sensory gym to help our children explore all their senses, as well as improve their body awareness. Our approach is to treat the whole child, and by doing so we are providing a space that allows them to develop their gross and fine motor skills, communication skills, and proprioceptive and vestibular sensory skills.

The ADOS-2 is a standardized assessment administered by a trained clinician. The assessment is designed to evaluate and address deficits incommunication skills, social interaction, and imaginative use of materials. The ADOS-2 is used for individuals who
are suspected of have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This tool is administered in a
very play-based manner and will help in supporting the diagnosis of ASD.
